MENTORS

Are you looking for an opportunity to make a real difference in a student’s life? How about being part of a program with the potential to positively impact society? The 1000 Girls, 1000 Futures Program is a world-wide effort that pairs motivated, enthusiastic mentors with smart, STEM-focused high school women and gives them access to innovative programming that will help them develop essential 21st century skills.

Why do I want to be a mentor for 1000 Girls, 1000 Futures?

When you volunteer to mentor with 1000 Girls, 1000 Futures, you are not only devoting time to help further the future of STEM by encouraging a young woman to pursue her passion within the field, but you are also able to connect to a global network of like-minded female STEM professionals with whom to share experiences and resources. Plus, with our flexible online training program, you can develop your own skills as a mentor, too.

IN ADDITION TO MENTORING A STUDENT online, Is there anything else I can do IN THE PROGRAM?

With our online learning platform, you can not only help your mentee with the supplemental programming we offer, but you can also contribute to the larger community whenever you want. You can connect with women everywhere who share your interests and views on the world. Additionally, you can take advantage of the resources available to help you develop your mentoring skills!

How much time does it take? Do I have to be online every day?

The program is very flexible and works with your schedule. You and your mentee arrange how often you want to interact. The online learning platform has an app to keep you up-to-date with news and announcements, too.

How long is the program?

The program cycle is one full calendar year.
